Tatum turns 1!

I love my Watch Me Grow babies!! I love that I get to watch them grow and develop from a tiny wrinkly newborn to a giggling toddler.  It is bitter sweet for me however.  I get to see them every 3 months for the first year of their lives then they turn one (YAY!!) and they aren’t coming to see me as often and I miss them (BOO)

A little over a year ago Tatum’s awesome parents contacted me to photo their tiny human and it made my year. At his last session for his 1 year photos they made my year again by telling me they want me to continue to photograph him every 3 or 4 months 🙂 I seriously got teary eyed. I love this little family and I hope I get to document their lives as their family continues to grow.

Catch up

oh boy I am such a slacker when it comes to blogging.  Allow me to catch up with blogging random sessions and in no particular order.

First on the blogging block is little Mason.  I believe some people are put in your life for a reason and Mason’s Momma and Grandmomma were for sure.  They are awesome people and I am very happy to call them friends.  🙂  Mason was the best sleeper I have had yet.  He slept so long and so soundly I was able to get pretty much every shot we wanted.  There is something about capturing newborns that makes me sigh and feel so content and giddy at the same time.  I love when I do a newborn and they are signed up for my watch me grow package and I get to see them for at least the first year of their lives.  They become part of my family and there is nothing better.

Check out all my info and more of my work on my website and on facebook!

Its been a while

Well here it is December and I haven’t bloggity blogged since July ish… So much for that New Years resolution to blog more.  Oh well maybe next year will be a better blog year.  I just might have to take a bit of time this winter and get caught up on blogging.  Any way with Christmas coming I wanted to take a moment and share this photo with you all.  It  was a hit on my Facebook page so maybe it will be a hit elsewhere too 🙂 I hope you get a giggle out of this picture, I know I sure did.  The holidays tend to make a lot of people feel just like this 🙂 This is the second time I have gotten to photo this adorable little girl  and the second time for her handsome older brother.  The family is beyond sweet and so caring.  I look forward to watching these kids grow up 🙂

Two in one day!

Last Saturday I had the pleasure of photographing 2 newborns.  You met the first one in the last blog post and now its time to meet the second little guy.  I have photographed is 3 older siblings for a little over a year and now I get to include this little munchkin in my list of uber cute clients!!  This little newbie was 5 days new at the time of the session and it was the perfect age to do all the bending and posing, he was super pliant and we had so much fun!!  Newborn sessions always wear me out for the simple fact that I am crawling around on the floor for about 3 hours for each one, so you can imagine after 6 hrs crawling around and hovering over the babies I was sooooo tired and stiff.  But I am pretty sure it was TOTALLY worth it.  I know I say this a lot but, I DO HAVE THE BEST JOB IN THE WORLD.

As usual you can check out all my info and more images on the full website, or you can check me out and “like” me on facebook, don’t forget to click that little like button while your visiting me there 🙂

Squishy

There are times when I love my job and then there are times when I LOOOOVVVEEEE my job.  Last Saturday was a LOOOOVVVEEEE my job day.  I got to spend the morning with an adorable 8 day new little boy.  He was so cute and squishy, had a head full of thick dark hair and he did a fabulous job letting me pose him.   Momma wanted some outdoor photos very badly and we lucked out that it was warm and sunny enough that we were able to sneak out for a few min and snap a couple shots for her without baby getting chilled.  Every time I do a newborn session I get the worst case of baby fever, but hey that’s a side effect I am willing to live with if i get to have these tiny babies in my studio for a few hours 🙂

As usual you can see all my work and information over on the good ole web page.  Also check me out on Facebook.

Growth

Last week I have the privilege of photographing a newbie!!  Her older brother was one of my first clients and it made me realize just how far I have come since then.  With every session I have I learn a little something to take to the next session.  I truly love what I do even if at times its frustrating and scary being a business owner.  Everything is up to me to do, design, education, promoting the business, the paperwork, the paperwork, the paperwork and not to mention the paperwork.  Sometimes I want to beat my head on the desk and cry but then I head out to a session and I get to snuggle a newbie, play with kids, or be involved with the glamour of a senior session and it is so clear why I do this.  It is truly what I was meant to do in life and I don’t feel right if I am not doing something photo related.

Here are a few of the newbie I had the pleasure to photograph last week.  You look at these and tell me if you think I have the greatest “job” in the world!!

As usual you can find more of my work and info on my full site.  Take a looksie around 🙂  You can also find and “like” me on facebook

Baby blues

This little guy was so cute.  His cheeks and eyes made my day!! We had to try a second session because the first day he came he was crying and crabby and it turns out he had an ear infection.  Poor little guy I would have been crying too!!  It just reminds me how innocent babies are and that the only way they have to tell you something wrong is to cry.  Any way that day started out very cool and I had an idea that I wanted to take him outside with my banner my mom made for me as a prop and I was so sad when it was cool.  A few hours later though it had warmed up enough and we got to go outside and enjoy some fresh air and nice breeze and get some really cute photos.

Itty bitty ones

It has been super busy around here the past month or so and now I am trying to play catch up with my blog!!! beware there will be lots of blogging coming up.

First up is this super adorable tiny one!! She totally melted my heart and I just wanted to snuggle her all evening.  It took me a while to get her to sleep but then once I got her there I got some pretty great shots if I do say so myself.  Newborns take a lot of patience and time to get super cute shots and a pretty warm room to take them in since they are pretty much naked the whole time.  By the time I am done I am sweating and worn out but boy when I pull the images in the computer and look at them I get revved up all over again.  I can’t even tell you how awesome it feels to be able to do something I love so much!!

Baby A

I was so excited to get to do baby A’s newborn photos.  Itty bitty babies make me giddy… Oh yeah it all makes me giddy!!  With a newborn you spend a lot more time taking the photos than a normal session and you end up with less photos.  This super cute little girl had a head FULL of hair and was a super good baby, she hardly ever cried.  She didn’t want to sleep too well though.

Sometimes I wish I had half a day or all day with a newborn working on poses.
